Dress, yellow, flowers

Pale yellow - lemon - 'ballerina' style dress. The base is a yellow, probably rayon, taffeta with an overlay of pale yellow cotton or silk organza. The fitted bodice is made of a layer of taffeta with two layers organza. It has sewn bra cups that are covered in cream cotton velvet, five petalled flowers, 45mm diameter, that have been folded in half and glued at the base, with strips of bias cut green silk (or possibly cotton) as leaves. There is is pleated frill around the top of organza, a 34mm wide bias strip folded in half and pleated. There is a 47mm wide bias facing along the top edge of the bodice. The shoulder straps are pairs of 3mm wide rouleaux, knotted at the top of the shoulder. The garment has started to be altered at the bust, on the right hand side, the organza pleating, facing and side seam have been unpicked, but not resewn. There is piping at the waist-line. The 770mm long flared skirt is constructed of a half circle layer of taffeta, a half circle layer of organza, and the top layer of organza is a full circle skirt. It fastens with a 35mm metal zip on the left hand side of the garment, and a silver metal hook and hand worked loop at the top.
