Bridegroom Doll

Hook’s Unbreakable Dolls was established by Sydney and Elsie Hook in Brompton, South Australia in 1916. The manufactory was burned down just prior to Christmas, 1920. In 1931 Elsie Hook began again manufacturing dolls, this time in a tin shed at the back of her house at 50 North Terrace, Hackney. This bridegroom doll is part of a set of dolls believed to have been made by Elsie Hook for display at the Myer Emporium in Adelaide.
