Spurs And Leathers (pair)

These spurs belonged to explorer John McDouall Stuart who is best known for his attempts to cross Australia from south to north through the continent’s center, taking a route that was used for the Australian Overland Telegraph Line.  Stuart’s explorations also resulted in the 1863 annexation of a huge area of country to the Government of South Australia which became known as the Northern Territory.
